Unique Maple TableThis table is constructed of a spalted hard maple log slice divided into 3 sections and highly polished. The
piece is mounted on a well executed wrought iron base that provides a
pleasing combination of materials.
The salvaged tree was 240 yrs old and this cut clearly shows the growth rings back to 1760 when it sprouted. Good years and bad years are recorded as wide or narrow rings. A growth spurt of a couple decades are evident when the logging
operations in our area commenced around 1900. This growth is called a
release and slowed as the younger trees became more competative. Anyone interested in a historical artifact will find this table exciting as a unique record of our country's history. Dimensions: 28" oval and 19" High ~40 pounds.
