Client/server Programmer. Returned to GOVT.com to continue working on client/server applications (FoxPro/PC client – Perl/Solaris server and Visual FoxPro client and server using Remote COM Automation DLL’s). Created the back end Perl/CGI part of an automated web page publishing system for municipal government customers.
Freelance Web Programmer: Consultant for InfiNet, an ASP supporting the websites of many large newspapers. Implemented and modified the Real Classified application using Object Forms and Object Store. Applications were designed and tested in Linux 6.2 before being ported to Sun Solaris 7 servers. This project included heavy Perl and JavaScript integration.
CGI/ISAPI Web Developer/Database Programmer: Worked for GOVT.com, a supplier of government to business and government to constituent programming solutions. Worked with a team to port a Visual FoxPro desktop application to run as HTML within a web browser using Java, JavaScript, and FoxWeb. Later took over responsibility for stabilizing and modifying the project. Ported an Intranet VFP program to work over the Internet using West Wind Web Connection. Designed e-commerce credit card and automatic check handling interfaces in Perl, PHP, and ASP. Custom web programming included the design and stabilization team of a very large scale VFP project which included modifying an HTML generator, using Perl to process form data into e-mail in both UNIX and Windows NT server environments, and converting the emails into database records. Wrote several support programs for handling e-mail via the Visual Studio MSMAPI controls for MAPI email handling and MABRY Internet Pack in asynchronous mode for POP3/SMTP handling in client/server applications.
